Email set up in Mozilla Thunderbird (for Wireless Broadband Customers)

Email set up in Microsoft Outlook Express (for Wireless Broadband customers)

Open Microsoft outlook
Select Tools in the above tool bar
Select account settings in the "tools" tab
Select "Add" and mail
Enter your name example John Smith
Enter your email address example johnsmith@northern.net.au
The incoming mail server is a POP3 server
The incoming and outgoing server names are: 172.16.20.253
Enter your name and password (click remember password if you wish for your computer to remember)
Click finish
Go back to tools - account in your toolbar
Select properties
Select servers in the toolbar which appears
Tick the box which says "log on using Secure Password Authentication"
Select OK
Your email should now be operational in Outlook Express

Should you wish, you can send a test email to sales@northern.com.au to ensure your email is operating correctly.

Creating an Email address (for ADSL customers only)

Guide to creating a new email address when you connect to ADSL broadband.

Go to www.peopletelecom.com.au
In the top right hand corner of the page there is a customer login.
Enter your Login (which is your People Telecom customer number)
Enter you password and click submit
Once you are logged in select "My account"
On the left hand side of the page you will find "Email Management" select.
Select Create account
Select your account name and password for example johnsmith@people.net.au and passw
Select create and your account is created.
